Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive and inclusive environment that empowers military and veteran students to thrive in their college education, build a strong community, and achieve successful career transitions. Through our commitment to fostering a supportive community, providing resources for academic success, and offering career development opportunities, we aim to ensure that military and veteran students at UTD have the necessary tools and support to excel in their college journey and beyond.
Our Vision
Our vision is to cultivate a Military & Veteran Center as a beacon of strength, inclusivity, and inspiration within the UTD campus community. We envision our military and veteran students as campus leaders, leveraging their unique skills and abilities to foster a sense of belonging and community among their peers. Through legacy programming, we strive to create lasting initiatives that honor their service while empowering them to excel academically and professionally. By exemplifying excellence as students and mentors, our military and veteran students will inspire other service members to choose UTD as their educational destination, knowing they will be welcomed into a supportive environment that values their contributions and helps them achieve their personal and professional aspirations.
Our Goals
The UT Dallas Military & Veteran Center (MVC) is committed to providing comprehensive resources and unwavering support for our veterans and military-affiliated students. To achieve this, we have established four key goals:
- Cultivate a Strong Community: We are dedicated to fostering a vibrant community where students feel welcomed and supported as they transition to campus life. Our efforts extend beyond the classroom, connecting students with a robust network of UTD alumni veterans and creating lasting bonds that support personal and professional growth.
- Honor and Recognize Excellence: We proudly honor the service and sacrifices of our military-affiliated students within the UTD community. We also celebrate their academic achievements, showcasing their exceptional contributions in and out of the classroom.
- Empower Through Connection: We connect our students with the vital resources, services, and programs they need to thrive at UTD and beyond. By providing tailored support, we empower them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in their academic and career pursuits.
- Educate and Advocate: We actively inform and educate the campus community, local area, and prospective students about military-affiliated individuals’ unique experiences and needs. Through outreach and advocacy, we strive to create a more welcoming and supportive environment for all.
