Military Community Mentors
The Military Community Mentors (M.C.M.s) at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) support transfer students, incoming students, military dependents, and spouses. Established in the summer of 2024, these mentors are paired with mentees based on their majors and shared experiences to ensure a smooth transition into university life. MCMs guide new students through academic, social, and administrative challenges, helping them overcome obstacles and stay on track with their goals. The program encourages participation in campus activities, fostering connections and camaraderie within the university community. By creating a supportive environment, M.C.M.s build a strong network of military-affiliated students who can rely on each other for advice and encouragement. Overall, the M.C.M.s at UTD are crucial in helping military-affiliated students and their families integrate into the university, ensuring they have the resources and support needed for a successful academic journey.
